這次改版的《Pokemon Go》新增了「Appraisal」提示功能，玩家可以從所屬陣營隊長的評價中，得知自己寶可夢的攻擊力、血量和防禦力，有點類似IV值的功能。不過由於評價太過籠統，讓不少玩家看得一頭霧水，雖然有人批評「像是一堆廢話」，但是，事實上這些台詞背後都隱藏了IV值的範圍，搞懂以後，就不用一個一個去查IV了！一個隊長往往會先對整體IV值作評價，接著是接著會提出個別數值(攻擊力、血量、防禦力)哪一項最好，例如：I see that its best attribute is its Attack or HP or Defense.（我想它最好的屬性是攻擊和防禦）。如果有其他數值跟最好數值一樣會做出評價，表示數值一樣好，例如：It is matched equally by its Attack or HP or Defense.（他的攻擊和血量難分軒輊），最後會提出個別數值評價。
